The Cropped Takenoko Anorak is a double-zip front closure pullover/jacket inspired by the vintage Italian mountain jacket with a hint of the Swedish Army military wear details. This military combination jacket features slanted full-zip front closure on the left and right. The shape of the front panel made by these zipper lines resembles the shape of bamboo shoots and this model is named after that – “Takenoko” means bamboo shoots in Japanese. The bell-shaped cuff ribs are rare to find. This wool-yarn ribbing is traditionally used for military flight jackets back in old days but has been disappearing as it requires cost-ineffective procedure on the old knitting machine. The shape of the ribbing is sometimes called “flair”, in which the wale of ribbing gets wider toward edge, allowing more stretch for sleeve ends while keeping snug fit at your wrist.
