The style “Baja Shirt” was originally introduced in the 1970’s by Californian surfers and has become popular within hippie and surf culture.  The style emigrated from Baja California, brought back to the United States from holidays and surf trips to be worn in mild and cold weather.  Due to its history baja shirts are associated with both surf style in America and its native Mexican heritage.  Monitaly refines a typical baja shirt to elevate to a next level; trimmed body and sleeve, neck opening with arrow-shaped facing reinforcement, and use of quality handloom fabrics.  The pullover style features a single large pocket with rounded corners.
